Rocket and homeschooling

Well, Rocket did his Dock Dogs competition on Friday, and in the words of Todd:
new collar $10.49
new Rabies tag $5
Dock Dogs registration $20
water toy to jump after $5
3rd place medal ...priceless

Rocket was 3rd in his amateur division (out of 5 dogs:) but it was fun, and the boys have been taking turns wearing the medal around their necks since Friday. (Sorry, no pictures. camera is out of batteries).
Rocket jumped 13 feet. A dog there jumped 26 feet (he's 2nd or 3rd world champion) and the world record is 28 feet. It was fun seeing the dogs flying through the air. The dogs (even Rocket) all loved it. While they were waiting for their turns they would whine and prance around, and when it was their turn they would RUN up the steps. We were the only locals. All the other dogs had come from Las Vegas and other states. When Alex and Nathan are 7, they can be the dog handler and throw the ball. We just have to wait until it comes back to Utah!

Today Todd and I went to a homeschooling conference in Salt Lake all day and Todd's brother and his wife watched all 3 kids. Katie took a bottle and was happy! Todd made it known that he was going only because it was important to me, but he was pleasantly suprised and actually really like it! He even asked if he could help teach the boys something when he got home from work. (Let's hear a collective "Ahhhh"). It's so nice to have such a supportive husband.
The conference was TERRIFIC! The more I get in to homeschooling the more I really love it, and the more I'm glad we've decided to do this in our family. Later I'll post my impressions (since this is the way I journal), but I'm really tired, so I'll have to do that tomorrow.
