pics from the new camera
Todd made us a Thanksgiving dinner today! He spends every weekend, all weekend cooking. I'm glad he likes to cook. He's even doing the dishes now so when he's done, there's not even a mess!!! I for sure, without a doubt, have the best husband in the world! He even made a lemon meringue pie and pumpkin pie. He makes everything from scratch and it's so so so good!! I'm so so full right now.

nice...
Today at church Todd and I took separate cars. I had my car keys in the diaper bag and after church, Todd thought he would help me by taking the diaper bag home so I wouldn't have to carry it because I had Katherine and Alex. I was frustrated that I had no keys and I was stuck at church. We were in the foyer with a crowd of other people, and Alex said, "When Daddy gets here we'll say 'what the hell were you thinking'??"
Last night I was hugging Nathan and he said, "you're squishing me into bits of bird food!"

Boutique
I went to the boutique to say hi to Judy, and, well, I did look around too. I couldn't help it! There were bows, bracelets, tutus, etc etc everywhere!! Well, Todd was SO SO sweet to give me $20 to spend there, so I got Baby Katherine a nightgown and matching ones for Chloe and Halle (but Halle's is purple) that are SO cute and very feminine. Baby likes to eat hers:

It's a little big because the smallest size they had was 18 months, but that just means she'll be able to wear it for a while.

Introspection
I started reading the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" (it's 2am) and it's a really good book so far. The professor is dying and shares what he thinks is important from a dying person's perspective. I imagine him as Todd's grandpa:). He emphasizes how important good relationships with others are. It made me think about the 34 year old WalMart worker who was trampled and killed, because people wanted to get material things, "celebrating" the birth of the Savior. I also thought about today, when we went to the boutique Judy was in, she had been sitting in her boothe all day. We went to go say hi to her. When we got there, we said hi for a minute, but I was captivated by all the things at the boutique--I just wanted to look around. Tomorrow I'm going to sit with her and chat, maybe even bring her something to eat.
In class, Morrie told his student, "I hope that one day you will think of me as your friend." My biggest wish of my whole life is that one day my kids will grow up and think of me as their friend. But it seems lately that I am ignoring them. Maybe after I talk with Judy tomorrow, I'll come home and play with my kids instead of looking at the boutique. They've been really wanting to do a dino party with me.
Two other lines from the book I like so far:
"Are you giving to your community?" Not really, no. (Unless you count the methane gas...)
"Are you at peace with yourself?" I need to want less and not be so selfish and have more self-control.

make that 4 posts today...
We went shopping today, Todd and I and the kids, and I got to look in the GIRL section of Toys R Us!!!!!! I am really SO excited about that and that I think Santa might bring Baby Katherine this very cute and snuggly doll:
(I'm so excited even writing this post)
(I'm so excited even writing this post)P.S. I am miffed about something. The boys like to cook like their daddy, but all the cooking toys in the stores are all pink and girly! Don't they know that cooking can be for BOYS too?? There's a cupcake maker called "girl gourmet" that they want but they don't like that it's pink and says "girl" on it. There's an Easy Bake Oven they want, though, that's more gender neutral.

I'm sorry, but I have no pictures of Thanksgiving! I brought my camera, but forgot to take pictures. We went to Todd's grandparents' house in Provo like most every year. It was fun and enjoyable and lots of nummy food! Todd brought sweet potatoes, the recipe Kerry gave us from Ruth's Chris restaurant when she worked there, and apple crisp. Both were a hit! Especially with me. I ate another bowl of sweet potatoes instead of dessert.
As we were driving home, a fire truck pulled out in front of us. and we joked that our house burned down while we were gone. Then, we followed it around the corner, and another, until it pulled into our street. It was going to our neighbor's (dang it! It probably would have been a sight to see the owners of a burned down house dancing with glee--new house, don't have to clean, the insurance money pays like $90,000 toward contents in the home). I hope the neighbor is ok.
This morning I had a piece of pie for breakfast and Todd went shopping for the great deals; I would say "bright and early", but it was 4am, so it was just early. (He was looking at the ads last night like he was looking at centerfolds). He came back with his kill from the hunt to share with the family (read his story on his blog). He went to get a camera but went to some other stores for other little things. He was there really early, but said the shelves were wiped clean "like a swarm of locust had just come through," but he did get the camera. Thanks, Todd.

Book report
I just finished this book. When, you ask, do I have time to read? In the middle of the night, of course! I might be a vampire myself...Would I recommend this book? Probably. I liked it. It was entertaining. Just a notch above dumb, though. I do wonder what the hype is about this book, really. The first 250 out of 500 pages were boring, but the last part was suspenseful and exciting. It's definitely a teenager book--a gorgeous, charming guy oogling over the girl, a forbidden romance, the first lust--i mean love (they think each other looks good so OF COURSE they're in love!) but the million and a half times she almost dies and he saves her life is... well, COME ON! And almost every page has the "You shouldn't be with me because I'm danderous," -Edward, "No! I love you! I am going to stay with you forever!" -Bella, etc, etc,etc and gets ANNOYING! It is entertaining, though, and an easy read, and the last half was good. I also like the name "Bella" (Isabella). I don't think I'll read the others in this series, so Tawnya just gave me the synopsis of the other books.
What should I read next?
Happy Black Friday!
Todd got up early to get some good deals like he has for years now, and lets me sleep. It wasn't the same without Tawnya and Jed:(. He wrote about his ordeal on his blog here. You gotta read it.
