Oct. 4, 2008

First, I'll tell you that it's 1:45am and the only one in the family asleep is Todd.
Now, I'll tell you what Todd made for dinner: black bean chili (meatless) with whole wheat tortillas...SO YUMMY! He of course made it up. We are trying to eat healthier, so we are cutting back on meat (but not being vegetarians, just eating it less), and trying to get more fruits, vegetables and whole grains. The boys even like it. I told them yesterday that if they ate their pizza with all the vegetables on it they could get a treat (contradictory, I had to laugh at what I said). So we got a little toy instead. They even liked the chili and tortilla and Alex even asks for wheat bread.

However, after dinner I was having major junk food cravings so I made my famous "corner brownies". Would you like some? Name your own price! (I even licked the spoon when I was done mixing, just for nastalgia)Today was General Conference. I look forward to it the whole year (except it is every 6 months). The boys made a tent and had coloring pages from the church website and snacks in it while we watched conference. (explain below)

This is what Alex made:
When they talk about love, they eat the bread (see the picture of the bread and the picture next to it?). Then when they talk about Jesus they drink the water, and when they talk about charity they eat cherries (my favorite picture:)).

When I was a freshman in college, Todd and I and some friends (we were just friends then) decided to go see conference in person (Oct. 1997--where has the time gone?????). Back then it was still in the Tabernacle and we had to wait in line and spend the night on the sidewalk to get in. It was a fun time, and when we finally got in the tabernacle, I was so tired I slept through most of it. What I remember also, is what I wore. First off, I have always been a freak. (Band pins in 6th grade??) That night I wore overalls with Winnie the Pooh and Friends on them. That would have been ok if I were FOUR, but I was EIGHTEEN. I'm surprised Todd married me...

Here's a picture from that night, I was thinking I was HOT...

(top right)

Now, click on the link and listen to Uchtdorf and Holland's talks...I dare you...I double-dare you

Come on, I know you're curious!

P.S. I BIG thank you to Kerry for blogging! I big no-thank you to Allison for making me look retarded asking me to do "A day in the life" and then not doing it herself! A BIG thank you to Tawnya for writing sweet comments and getting me to do blogging, and a BIG thank you to my parents who actually read these novels... and a Big thank you to all my fans who made this possible (me wiping a tear)

If it helps, I always thought you were cool. I didn't know that an eighteen-year-old shouldn't wear winnie the pooh overalls.

you writing more blogs has made me want to do it more often. it's actually pretty fun. you realize your life isn't necessarily "same ol' same ol'" when it's written down in detail. :)

LOVE YOU!!
